bring it back, eddie.

bring it back, eddie.
I met Eddie in a bonfire grappling everyone was burning back then. Yesterday night I looked back and tried to see her greasy hair popping out of the window as buses cars passed everyone so sad.

I didn’t.

Downtown mania was so fun then Charlie and Ivy kissed and all boys cried out. I loved watching them kissing each other his hands grasping for air blurry nights and boys all bonny, bonny boys and Tom O’Bedlam pouching up Santos avenue. Ivy was a Jewish rat hot at stove-point temperature, we all fell in love with her. Eddie was a dark-eyed dark-haired coloured Mini Cooper who loved me at point blank joy and all that. Mom’s coffee burnt out and skinny girlfriend has been taking potshots at my heart ever since then. Jack loved her so much his whole hair fell down, creepy snatchers crawling circles on the bathroom floor. Bring it back, Eddie.

I remember Jack from the early days, when sailors sneezed pipe gigs and the sea was only a shadow of what it is now. The jolly old days sparkled with first kisses first fucks rusty sails blowing, blowing us all apart, boys barking lovely and I so lost in that dusty road. I lost it to the roads, it’s them dusty runways derailleurs bike springs shining in the sun, it’s them sailors souls all poets touching hands. It’s you Eddie.

Bobby tossed me a coin and told me the sun was that way, Charlie’s beard and Sal so pure it made me cry. I was a young chap running back and forth, there and at it again there was something written in my back I do not remember what it is. Something about life. Bobby was pretty tree hugging tree-like dog faced old bastard, I enjoyed being at the pier laughing rolling inwards. I’ll be your vernisage crusher, I’ll touch little girls nipples and drink water from flower vases, mom’s coffee table spoilt child. I’ll be terrible. Someday someone will climb that dune, all over that dune, and stare at my coin rocket child fist faced and I’ll be dead by then, so you can bring it back now, Bobby.

Put that camera down, we are all a little calisthenic these days.

Thunderbird, Road Rocket, Shooting Star
Photo was taken in the spring of 1955. The Thunderbird would have been around a 1950 model. The 650cc Road Rocket and my 500cc Shooting Star were both new 1955 models.
